Street Fighter 2026 film details emerge

The upcoming 2026 Street Fighter film, directed by Kitao Sakurai, is taking a different approach to the Capcom franchise compared to the 1994 adaptation. While the original film focused on a military adventure featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, the new version centers on the World Warrior Tournament, bringing the focus back to the competitive fighting roots of the video game.

The new cast includes Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. The film also features Jason Momoa and Andrew Schulz. Schulz portrays the character Dan Hibiki, a character originally designed as a parody of SNK's Art of Fighting fighters. In the new narrative, Dan Hibiki maintains a close relationship with Ken Masters, appearing as an overconfident fighter who lacks actual combat prowess.
