Street Fighter box office declines significantly in second weekend

The live-action video game adaptation ‘Street Fighter’ experienced a sharp decline in its second weekend of release. After opening to $31 million in North America, the film earned an estimated $9.5 million for its second weekend, representing a 69 percent drop from its opening.

Ten days into its theatrical run, the film has reached $47.8 million domestically. Industry analysts suggest the film may face significant financial losses, potentially totaling $50 million or more against its $82 million budget, given its projected worldwide total of approximately $110 million.

The film, directed by Kitao Sakurai, faced competition from the Elizabeth Holmes documentary ‘You Can See Everything,’ which earned $15 million during its opening weekend. Additionally, DC’s ‘Clayface’ is projected to take the top spot in the box office following a $3.5 million Thursday night preview.
