Street Fighter film adaptation set for 2026 release

The upcoming Street Fighter film adaptation, produced by Legendary Pictures and Paramount Pictures, is set for a 2026 release. The narrative begins at the World Martial Arts Tournament, featuring a confrontation between Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Sagat. Following the tournament, the story follows the diverging paths of Ryu, who seeks anonymity to master his discipline, and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who aligns with Dan Hibiki (Andrew Schulz) to relaunch his career.

Critics note that the film attempts to balance its deep lore with a more lighthearted, action-oriented approach. While the production has been praised for its visual nods to the source material, discussions remain regarding whether the film can achieve sufficient dramatic depth to complement its stylized action and flamboyant tone.
