Street Fighter film adaptation set for October release

The legendary Capcom fighting game franchise ‘Street Fighter’ is being adapted into a feature film scheduled for release on October 16. Set in 1923, the story follows estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) who are reunited by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for the World Warrior Tournament.

Cast members and director Kitao Sakurai have indicated that the film explores the deep history between Ryu and Ken, who were once training partners and friends before being separated by a past event. The plot involves a deadly conspiracy that forces the characters to confront both each other and their personal histories.

The film features a wide array of characters from the game series, including iconic figures such as M. Bison (David Dastmalchian), Guile (Cody Rhodes), Blanka (Jason Momoa), and Zangief (Olivier Richters), alongside more obscure additions like Juli, Dan Hibiki, and Akuma (Roman Reigns).
