The new Street Fighter film, directed by Kitao Sakurai and produced by Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment, has debuted at the top of the US box office. The movie earned approximately $31 million during its opening weekend in the United States, contributing to a global total of roughly $51.1 million.

Despite the successful debut, the film's long-term profitability remains a subject of debate. With an estimated production budget between $80 million and $82 million—not including marketing and distribution costs—industry estimates suggest the film may need to reach a global gross of $200 million to $205 million to be considered a definitive success.

While some analysts question if the current momentum is sufficient to secure a sequel, other reports suggest that earning back the initial budget may be enough to allow a follow-up production to move forward.
