Street Fighter live-action film set for worldwide release in 2026

A live-action film adaptation of the iconic fighting game franchise ‘Street Fighter’ is scheduled for worldwide release on October 16, 2026. Produced by Legendary Pictures in collaboration with Capcom, and distributed by Paramount Pictures and Legendary, the film features new production stills of characters including Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li.

Set in 1993, the story follows Ryu and Ken, former close companions who have grown distant. Their lives intersect again when Chun-Li invites them to participate in the ‘World Warrior Tournament,’ a high-stakes competition held without rules or limits. As the tournament progresses, the characters uncover a massive conspiracy and face an ultimate nightmare from their past.

To promote the film, a ‘World Warrior Tour’ has commenced, including a recent promotional event in Tokyo. Cast members including Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, and director Kitao Sakurai attended the event in Japan to celebrate the franchise's roots.
