Street Fighter movie releases interactive trailer

A new interactive trailer for the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie has been released via YouTube Playables. The feature allows viewers to participate in the action by attempting combos and receiving a performance score within a virtual arcade machine setting.

Set in 1993, the film follows Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) as they enter the World Warrior Tournament and become entangled in a deadly conspiracy. The production is a collaboration between Paramount Pictures, Legendary Entertainment, and Capcom.

The ensemble cast includes Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Joe Anoa’i as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, and Jason Momoa as Blanka. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film aims to establish a distinct tone that avoids generic video game adaptation tropes. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on October 14.
