Street Fighter: The Movie behind-the-scenes footage released
Special making-of footage has been released for the live-action film ‘Street Fighter: The Movie’, showcasing the intense training required to replicate iconic video game moves. The production, involving Legendary Pictures and Capcom, focuses on bringing the classic fighting game series to life through authentic martial arts choreography.
Stunt coordinator John Barera led a team of martial artists, including practitioners of Goju-ryu, Shotokan karate, and judo, to develop fighting styles that remain faithful to the original source material. Cast members underwent rigorous physical preparation: Noah Centineo (Ken) trained for six weeks in karate and punching techniques, while Iko Uwais (Ryu) and others worked to master signature moves like the Hadoken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.
Other actors also engaged in specialized training, such as Kalina Lian (Chun-Li), who performed intensive kicking drills six days a week to master the Spinning Bird Kick, and 50 Cent, who returned to boxing for his role as M. Bison. The film follows Ryu and Ken as they reunite to compete in the World Warrior Tournament, only to uncover a larger conspiracy.
