Street Fighter video game series receives new action-comedy film adaptation
The iconic video game series Street Fighter is being adapted into a new action-comedy film set in the 1990s. The production features an ensemble cast including Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, and rapper Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson.
The plot follows Ken Masters, a former martial arts legend struggling with his past glory, who is recruited by the mysterious Chun-Li to participate in an international tournament. The competition is complicated by the presence of Ryu, Ken's brother with whom he has a fractured relationship. As the tournament progresses, the fighters discover that the organizer has a sinister plan to use the event to achieve global domination.
Lead actor Noah Centineo described the film as ‘huge and insanely fun,’ noting that the cast enjoyed the filming process. The movie aims to blend high-energy action sequences with humor and numerous references to the original gaming series.
