Street League Skateboarding Rio Takeover draws top athletes to Maracanãzinho

The Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Rio Takeover will be held on 9 August at the Maracanãzinho arena in Rio de Janeiro, coinciding with Brazil’s Father’s Day weekend. The organizers are running a “buy‑one‑get‑one” ticket promotion for full‑price seats in the Arquibancada and 9 Club sections.

The competition features an international field, including Brazil’s Rayssa Leal, Giovanni Vianna, Lucas Rabelo, Gabriela Mazetto and Filipe Mota, as well as riders from Japan, the United States, Canada, Peru and Spain. Argentine wildcard Mauro Iglesias also competes. Leal, a four‑time SLS champion, highlighted the importance of the home crowd and the chance to visit the beach between runs. A festival with fan activations will run alongside the skate sessions.
