Strenci to develop multimodal public transport hub

The Valmiera Municipality is establishing a new multimodal public transport connection point in Strenci, Latvia. The project aims to integrate the public transport network with the railway to improve mobility for local residents and surrounding parishes.

As part of the Cohesion Fund project “Modernization of Railway Passenger Infrastructure,” Latvijas dzelzceļš plans to build a new elevated platform at Gaidu iela 22, near the Pulkveža Zemitāna iela overpass. This new location is approximately 1 km from the current station building and will be closer to the city center.

The municipality will develop the transport hub at the same site as the new platform. The development will include improved access roads, car parking, passenger shelters, bicycle storage, functional LED lighting, and accessible modular public toilets.
