Strenesse partners with Angermaier for new Trachten collection
The fashion brand Strenesse is expanding into traditional Bavarian clothing with a new Trachten collection. In collaboration with the Munich-based tradition house Angermaier, the brand will present a limited collection for both men and women in time for Oktoberfest 2026.
According to CEO Noro Hoferer, the collection aims to be reduced, modern, and elegant. Key pieces include the navy blue 'Jacky' Dirndl, which features ruffled wing sleeves designed to replace the traditional blouse, and the 'Ira' Dirndl, which incorporates subtle floral patterns and velvet details.
Fashion expert Professor Rainer Wenrich notes a shift in traditional wear trends, stating that 'mini' lengths are no longer popular. Instead, current styles favor longer, maxi-length Dirndls and a preference for muted, tone-on-tone colors such as olive, beige, navy, and black. The trend also emphasizes high-quality materials including velvet, silk, corduroy, and linen.
