Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has defended the show’s new presenting trio—Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe—following mixed viewer reactions to their live debut. Mabuse addressed criticism on social media, advocating for the value of human imperfection in live television and warning that artificial intelligence may eventually replace the authentic emotions found in broadcast media.

During the live broadcast, Mabuse engaged in playful banter with Widdicombe after he attempted to hurry the judging process along, asking him, “Are we going to be friends or enemies? You choose now!”

Separately, former professional dancer and presenter Janette Manrara reflected on her disappointment regarding the hosting changes, describing the decision not to select her as a main show presenter as the “biggest rejection” of her career.
