Strictly Come Dancing 2026 enters Movie Week with schedule changes

The 2026 series of Strictly Come Dancing has entered Movie Week, featuring several structural changes and notable contestant developments. Host Johannes Radebe explained that the themed week was moved earlier in the schedule to ensure all celebrity contestants have the opportunity to participate in a themed routine before elimination.

On the dance floor, Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington currently lead the combined leaderboard with 59 points. Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley topped the individual scores for the second live show with 31 points. Conversely, Melanie Walters and Aljas Skorjanec sit at the bottom of the leaderboard with a total of 30 points.

Contestant John Nellis shared personal news during the broadcast, revealing that he and his wife, Shannon McMahon, are expecting a baby in February. Meanwhile, viewers have expressed dissatisfaction on social media regarding perceived inconsistencies in judge scoring and the decision for the judging panel not to wear themed costumes for Movie Week.

The BBC has also announced a new companion show, ‘Strictly: Lights Up’, hosted by Abi Clarke and Tyler West, which will air on BBC iPlayer following the results shows.
