Severe storms and wind gusts cause damage across Colombia and Venezuela

Severe wind gusts and storms have caused widespread damage across several regions in Colombia and Venezuela, affecting homes, infrastructure, and public safety.

In Colombia, heavy electrical storms in Oiba, Santander, damaged eight homes, impacted crops, and caused power outages. In Cúcuta, winds exceeding 50 kilometers per hour injured three people on motorcycles and led to numerous reports of fallen trees, damaged walls, and lifted roofs, particularly in communes 3, 4, 7, and 8.

In Venezuela, the Táchira region experienced wind speeds between 45 and 47 kilometers per hour, affecting eight homes across five municipalities, including San Cristóbal, Torbes, and Córdoba. These gusts caused roof damage and structural issues due to falling trees. Similarly, in Barcelona, Anzoátegui, strong winds knocked down trees, disrupted electrical services in the Tronconal sectors, and forced emergency teams to clear debris from roads.
