Strong winds cause property damage in Giovinazzo and Manfredonia
Severe weather and strong winds have caused damage across parts of the Apulia region in Italy. In Giovinazzo, firefighters were deployed to via Devenuto to remove dangerous plaster that detached from the upper sections of ARCA public housing buildings. While local administration has planned renovations for 171 units using PNRR RePowerEu funds, the current wind conditions have created an immediate safety emergency.
In Manfredonia, heavy winds caused significant disruptions. In the Siponto Lido area, a large tree fell onto a roadway, taking down a streetlamp and completely obstructing traffic. Additionally, in Piazza Daino, a billboard was blown over by gusts, striking a parked vehicle and causing material damage. Local civil protection units have been monitoring the territory and advising residents to avoid parking under trees or unstable signs.
