Stronghold 4 reveals prequel campaign and early access plans

Firefly Studios has released a new trailer for Stronghold 4, showcasing the narrative campaign of the upcoming strategy title. The game is set as a prequel to previous entries in the series and features a 22-mission campaign.

The story follows Penryn of Wethel, a shepherd who is thrust into a leadership role. The campaign features voice acting from Benn Starr, known for his work in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The trailer also hints at the return of the character The Rat, who will appear in this prequel setting.

Stronghold 4 is scheduled for an early access release on PC later this year. Following the early access period, a full version is planned to launch, though the developers noted the timeline may extend. The game will include a skirmish mode with up to eight AI opponents, a Free Build mode, and a playable demo is currently available on Steam.
