Structural collapses reported in South Korea and Brazil

In Daegu, South Korea, at least 38 people were injured after a supermarket ceiling partially collapsed on Saturday. The supermarket is located on the second floor of a four-story building. Nine individuals required hospital treatment, while 66 others were evacuated from the site as a safety precaution. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has ordered authorities to prioritize rescue efforts and ensure a rapid response. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.

In Belém, Brazil, heavy rains and wind caused a decorative structure at the Portal da Amazônia to collapse. The luminous installation was part of the theme for the Círio de Nazaré religious celebrations. While the collapse occurred during a severe storm, there have been no reports of injuries or specific details regarding the structural failure.
