Struga schools face heating shortages as students threaten boycott

Primary and secondary schools in Struga are currently without heating despite the start of the heating season. Students report being forced to learn in cold classrooms during periods of low morning and evening temperatures.

The lack of heating is attributed to delays in the supply of oil and firewood. Students at schools such as 'Niko Nestor' and 'Ibrahim Temo' have expressed frustration, noting that the cold makes it difficult to remain in class. Some students have already begun leaving school early, and there are warnings of potential boycotts if the situation is not resolved.

In Dërasllajcë, some parents have opted to keep their children home to protect their health. Local political entities, including LSDM and BDI, have criticized the local government and school directors for poor management, noting that public procurement for oil supplies was not initiated in a timely manner.
