Struka twins prepare for Latvian volleyball European Championship

Twin sisters Karmena and Katrīna Struka are preparing to represent the Latvian national volleyball team at the European Championship. This tournament marks a significant milestone for Latvian women's volleyball, as the team returns to the final stage of the championship after a 29-year hiatus.

Nineteen-year-old Karmena has emerged as a leader for the national team, while Katrīna has participated in the full preparation phase with the potential to become a mainstay in the squad. Coach Inguna Minusa has described the sisters as ‘diamonds of Latvian volleyball,’ noting that their long-term success will depend on continued dedication and training.

The sisters recently gained international experience playing in Germany and Italy. They noted that the current summer training schedule, which involves one longer session per day, has allowed for better recovery and preparation for the higher level of competition expected at the European Championship.
