STS Sanok granted conditional license for TAURON Hockey League

STS Sanok Official – Sportowy Sanok S.A. has been granted a conditional license by the Polish Ice Hockey Federation to compete in the TAURON Hockey League for the 2026/2027 season. This decision officially concludes the registration process, making the Sanok-based club the ninth entity permitted to compete at the highest level of Polish hockey.

A critical requirement for the license was the settlement of the company's previous financial obligations. Sanok Mayor Tomasz Matuszewski noted that President Marek Pieniążek played a direct role in organizing the company and paying off arrears. These funds were secured through a strategic partner associated with the Ukrainian club Sokół Kijów.

With formal procedures completed, the club is shifting focus to sports operations. The team is scheduled to begin training at the Sanok Arena on August 18. Club authorities plan to announce the roster, coaching staff, and summer control match schedule in the near future.
