STUAC union to sell properties and launch mental health services
The Workers' Union of the Autonomous University of Coahuila (STUAC) plans to complete the sale of several properties by December, with a combined value exceeding 10 million pesos. According to General Secretary Nora Mireia Ramírez Sánchez, these assets were acquired irregularly, and the proceeds will be returned to active unionized workers who do not hold positions of trust.
Specific properties involved include a house in the Praderas neighborhood, which recently sold for 1.2 million pesos, ranch cabins listed for 3 million pesos, and a property in Saltillo valued between 3 and 3.5 million pesos. Additionally, several properties in Torreón are expected to bring in between 1.8 and 2 million pesos. The distribution of funds will exclude officials, directors, and academic or administrative staff in positions of trust.
In a separate initiative to support member well-being, STUAC has launched a free psychological care service. Starting October 20, individual one-hour consultations will be available at the union's Saltillo offices from 15:00 to 20:00. The program is a collaborative effort between the union and the UAdeC Subcoordination of Social Responsibility.
