Stuart Fails to Save the Universe receives positive reviews

The Big Bang Theory spinoff series "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe" is receiving positive critical reception on HBO Max. The 10-episode sci-fi action-adventure comedy follows supporting characters from the original sitcom, including comic book store owner Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman), Bert Kibbler (Brian Posehn), Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie), and Denise (Lauren Lapkus).

The plot centers on a "multiverse Armageddon" triggered when Stuart accidentally breaks a quantum interference device, forcing the group to travel across various timelines and universes to rectify the damage. Unlike the original series, this production does not utilize a laugh track.

Episode 4, titled "Spoiler: Stuart Makes a Wallet," is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. ET. The series was created by Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, and Zak Penn.
