StubHub resolves dispute with ‘Marlins Man’ over ticket errors
StubHub has reached a resolution with Laurence Leavy, a prominent sports fan known as ‘Marlins Man,’ following a public dispute over a ticket order. Leavy, an attorney who spends over $500,000 annually on the marketplace, accused the platform of fraud after receiving tickets that did not match his purchase. He claimed the seat and row numbers provided did not exist and that the company refused to honor its ‘FanProtect Guarantee.’
Following the incident, Leavy used social media to suggest the possibility of a class-action lawsuit seeking punitive damages. However, a StubHub spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that the company had connected directly with Leavy and reached a settlement. While the specific terms of the resolution were not disclosed, the company expressed satisfaction that the matter was settled.
