Student discharged after ethanol explosion causes severe burns in Brazil

Leonardo Henrique, a 21-year-old student, has been discharged from the hospital following a severe accident in Votuporanga, São Paulo. On August 4, an explosion caused by ethanol during a barbecue resulted in second and third-degree burns.

During his 19-day hospitalization at Hospital Padre Albino in Catanduva, Henrique suffered two cardiac arrests and bronchopneumonia. While his wounds have healed significantly, he continues to face mobility challenges and uses a walker as he undergoes a long-term recovery process.
