Student Dorm Expansions Boost Capacity in Croatia and Serbia

In Croatia's Sisak‑Moslavina County, summer enrollment for student dormitories has been completed. The dorm in Siska is fully occupied, Kutina has one vacancy and Novska five spots for the autumn intake. The county has increased total dorm capacity to 284 places, 116 more than two years ago, with the new Siska dorm opened at the end of 2024 and a dorm under final preparation in Petrinja that will house 40 students in 17 modern rooms. County head Ivan Celjak said the investments aim to keep pupils in the region for secondary education and provide high‑standard accommodation.

In Serbia, the new Student Dorm in Niš is nearing completion and is expected to add over 400 beds, raising the Student Center’s capacity from 958 to about 1,350. The project, funded with nearly 950 million dinars and supported by President Aleksandar Vučić, is slated for completion around June 2027. Director Rade Rajković and mayor Dragoslav Pavlović highlighted the long‑awaited expansion as a major boost for local students and the city’s educational infrastructure.
