Student financial aid updates in Naples and Basilicata
In Naples, the municipal government has announced reductions in book subsidies for the 2026-27 school year. Due to a budget shortfall of approximately 479,000 euros, the available funds were limited to 5.97 million euros instead of the required 6.45 million euros. Consequently, individual bonuses for middle and high school students have been cut by an average of 12 percent, with some reductions reaching up to 20.50 euros. The program benefits 32,298 students from families with an ISEE below 13,300 euros.
In the Basilicata region, the fourth edition of the ‘Valore del sapere’ initiative is distributing 1.2 million euros in merit-based scholarships. A total of 1,228 students enrolled in the first and second years of secondary school will receive 1,000 euros each. The funds are divided between the provinces of Potenza, which will receive 654,723 euros for 670 students, and Matera, which will receive 545,277 euros for 558 students.
