Student Government debates funding requests and procedural rules

Student government bodies held meetings to address funding requests for various student organizations and establish new procedural guidelines.

In one session, the College Council approved the denial of additional funding for six Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). Rejections included requests from the Maker Society and Computational Biology Outreach because they had already received funding during previous annual allocations. Other denials, such as those for Voices in Your Head and the Muslim Medical Student Association, were due to events not meeting cost guide eligibility criteria, while Alpha Kappa Psi and the Derivatives Group Quant Training were rejected for lack of itemization.

Additionally, the Council unanimously approved rules of procedure for the newly established Judicial Council. This council holds final jurisdiction over governing documents, including the constitution and by-laws, and will manage judicial hearings and rulings to resolve conflicts regarding document interpretation and funding decisions.
