Student Government discusses resolution to reinstate pride mural

The Student Government (SG) discussed a resolution regarding the removal of the SSA pride mural, which occurred on July 3. If the resolution, S. R. 2026-10, passes, the SG will demand that University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) administrators reinstate the mural.

The resolution also calls for the administration to issue a public explanation justifying the removal and to commit to consulting students and maintaining transparency regarding similar issues in the future. During the meeting, public speakers expressed that the mural served as a symbol of acceptance, community, and safety on campus.
