Student governments pass various structural and policy resolutions
Various student government bodies have implemented structural changes and policy resolutions to improve governance and address campus concerns.
At the University of Texas at Dallas, the Student Government passed several resolutions to amend its bylaws. These changes include clarifying the treasurer position, establishing a senate-only special election process for the vice president role, and refining the senate agenda structure. Additionally, the Student Government passed a resolution calling upon the University of Texas at Dallas Police Department to remove all Flock Automatic License Plate Reader cameras on campus following public testimony.
At Fordham University, the United Student Government (USG) has undergone leadership transitions and administrative adjustments. Juan Carlos Matos, assistant vice president of Multicultural Affairs for Diversity and Inclusion, was appointed as the new faculty advisor for USG. The organization also recently completed elections for the class of 2030 and has focused on modernizing communications through new digital tools.
Another student government body approved constitutional amendments to introduce a new executive cabinet and a communications department. The restructuring added nine new cabinet roles, such as deputy chief of staff and secretary of the senate, intended to provide more advancement opportunities for upperclassmen and ensure more consistent engagement with university administration.
