Student Housing Subsidy Deadlines Set in Slovenia and Croatia

In Slovenia, students wishing to live in university dormitories or privately‑run subsidised rooms for the 2026/2027 academic year must submit their applications by 18 August 2026. Applications submitted after this date will not be placed on the first‑priority list and will be processed later, with the deadline for continued eligibility on 1 October 2026. The monthly subsidy for private accommodation is €103.36 and all requests must be filed electronically via the eVŠ portal.

In Croatia, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth lowered the point threshold for eligibility to 1 255 points, creating a quota of 1 000 subsidised private‑housing places in Zagreb and Zagreb County for the 2025/2026 academic year. Students must sign a contract with the Student Center in Zagreb between 31 July and 7 August 2026; failure to do so will be treated as a waiver of the subsidy right.
