Student housing updates released for Rijeka and Zagreb

Student housing availability and accommodation procedures have been updated for major university centers in Croatia. In Rijeka, the final rankings for subsidized housing in the Trsat and ‘Ivan Goran Kovačić’ settlements have been released, securing 1,250 beds. Older students may move in between September 1 and September 15, while freshmen are scheduled to move in from October 1 to October 12.

In Zagreb, the Student Center reported a high demand for subsidized accommodation, receiving 9,752 applications for 6,638 available beds. The shortage of places is partly due to the ongoing renovation of the fifth and sixth pavilions at the Stjepan Radić Student Dormitory, funded by the EU Cohesion Fund. To mitigate the impact, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth has approved increased subsidies for 906 students who fell below the scoring threshold for dormitory placement. These subsidies for private accommodation amount to 152 euros per month.
