Student loneliness affects six in ten higher education students

Research from the Trimbos Institute indicates that six out of ten higher education students experience regular feelings of loneliness. To combat this, experts suggest several low-threshold methods for building social connections.

Recommended strategies include organizing study dates to create shared goals with classmates, celebrating the completion of assignments through social gatherings, and joining student associations. These associations allow students to connect with peers in their specific field of study through organized activities without the pressure of traditional student fraternities.
