Student Đặng Huyền Anh tops Hanoi's specialized literature exams, earns places at three elite schools

Đặng Huyền Anh, a 9th‑grader at Trường THCS Cầu Giấy in Hanoi, scored 43.75 points in the 2026 specialized literature entrance exam, becoming the top student (thủ khoa) for the literature track at Trường THPT Chuyên Hà Nội‑Amsterdam. She also ranked first in literature at Trường THPT Chuyên Đại học Sư phạm and secured admission to Trường THPT Chuyên Khoa học Xã hội và Nhân văn, totaling three elite high‑school offers.

Her mother, Phạm Thị Thu Huyền, a secondary‑school literature teacher, said she only hoped her daughter would be accepted to a preferred school. The student’s success was attributed to diligent reading, deep understanding, and regular writing, habits encouraged by both her mother and teachers such as Hoàng Thị Phương Ngọc. Huyền Anh, previously shy and hesitant to enter competitions, was motivated by encouragement from teachers Trần Thị Nga and Hoàng Phương Ngọc, later winning first place in a district literature contest and second place city‑wide.

Huyền Anh expressed surprise at the results, noting, “When the homeroom teacher announced the news, I was very happy and astonished.” She aims to become more confident and to pursue higher‑education opportunities both in Vietnam and abroad.
