Student Osman Balcı Wins Umrah Trip in Turkish School Competition

Osman Balcı, an 11th‑grade student at Alaşehir Fen Lisesi, was awarded a nine‑day Umrah pilgrimage after winning the "Siyer‑i Nebi – Prophet’s Life" inter‑school quiz. The competition was organized jointly by Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of National Education and the Turkey Diyanet Foundation.

Balcı is one of seven students nationwide to receive the Umrah prize and will travel to the holy sites in the coming weeks. His victory sparked celebrations in his hometown of Sarıgöl and in Alaşehir, with his father Murat Balcı expressing pride and gratitude for the opportunity.

The prize highlights the collaboration between religious and educational authorities in Turkey to promote knowledge of the Prophet’s life among high‑school students.
