Student rescued after suicide attempt at Ciudad Madero middle school

A middle school student in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, was rescued by a teacher after an attempted suicide at Secundaria General Número 7. The student reportedly ingested medication and caused self-inflicted injuries while in the school bathrooms.

Nélida Ovalle Bautista, the Director of Education for Ciudad Madero, stated that the student is currently stable and under medical care. According to school officials, the adolescent had a pre-existing emotional health diagnosis and was receiving institutional follow-up. Local authorities activated emergency protocols, and the student was transported to a local hospital accompanied by family.
