Student rescues two siblings from drowning in Ninh Binh

Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, an 11th-grade student at Hai Hau B High School, rescued two siblings from drowning in Ninh Binh on September 24.

While returning from school around 11:15 a.m., Hùng witnessed two children struggling in deep water in Hai Xuan commune. The victims, identified as 6th-grader Lê Quang Thái and primary student Lê Anh Thơ, had reportedly fallen into the river after their bicycle collided with a truck.

Hùng immediately abandoned his bicycle and backpack to jump into the river, successfully bringing both children to safety. The victims' health has since stabilized. Following the incident, Hai Xuan Commune People's Committee issued an emergency commendation to recognize Hùng's bravery and sense of community responsibility.
