Student Research Presentations Highlight Maryland Symposium and ISB Education Programs
The Maryland Space Grant Consortium held its 2026 Student Research Symposium on July 31 at the Mt. Washington Conference Center in Baltimore. The event featured oral and poster presentations by student interns and researchers from institutions across Maryland, including Capitol Technology University, Hagerstown Community College, Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University, NASA, Towson University, the United States Naval Academy, and the University of Maryland system. The schedule ran from registration at 7:30 a.m. through two oral presentation sessions, a group photo, poster sessions, and lunch.
Separately, ISB Education reported that high‑school interns presented summer research at a poster session on July 29, 2026, and highlighted expanded teacher‑learning workshops moved to the Canvas platform. New curriculum modules on systems medicine, Arctic microplastics, and other topics were released. ISB staff shared resources at numerous conferences in the United States and at the AGU Ocean Sciences meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, and featured a presentation by Nobel Laureate Dr. Mary Brunkow at a Seattle event.
