Student scientific research projects highlighted in Brazil
Regional science fairs in Brazil have highlighted student-led research focused on environmental and community challenges. In Camaquã, the Verde é Vida project presented 17 works at the IFSul Campus Camaquã. These projects, developed by public school students, addressed topics such as electronic waste disposal, agricultural productivity, and environmental preservation. Five projects were selected to advance to the regional stage.
In the Pará region, the XII Caxiuanã Science Fair, organized by the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, showcased 15 projects from students in Portel and Melgaço. These research efforts, which emphasized the participation of women and girls from riverside communities, focused on local forest challenges. Solutions presented included fish nurseries, composting techniques, and seed dispersal methods designed to address specific needs within the Marajó territory and the Caxiuanã National Forest.
