Students develop AI farming robot Genesis v1. 8

A team of 15 students from Galați and their mentors have developed Genesis v1. 8, an innovative AI-based farming robot. The device is scheduled for testing and demonstration on August 22, 2026, in the commune of Vânători.

Developed under the FARMERS 2. 0 educational project by the Creștem Oameni Mari Association, the robot aims to automate domestic agriculture. The technology is designed to allow users to manage vegetable cultivation via a smartphone or computer. The robot is capable of autonomous tasks including seeding, watering, weeding, soil moisture monitoring, and changing its own tools using artificial intelligence to identify and remove weeds.
