Intec graduates 945 new professionals in 63rd ceremony

The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (Intec) held its 63rd graduation ceremony, conferring degrees upon 945 new professionals. The graduating class comprised 597 women (63.2%) and 348 men (36.8%). Of the graduates, 54% were from postgraduate programs and 46% from undergraduate degrees. Academic honors were achieved by 194 students, including 95 who received the summa cum laude distinction.

During the ceremony, Rector Arturo Del Villar urged graduates to transform society through three core actions: exploring knowledge beyond their fields, maintaining human dialogue in the age of artificial intelligence, and connecting talent to the common good. He also advocated for a “STEMx” educational model that integrates science, technology, design, and the arts.

The ceremony included the investiture of five new doctors. Among them, Juan Salas Rosario earned a doctorate in Environmental Sciences, focusing his research on developing a simulator to support decision-making for climate risk management and emergency scenarios in Greater Santo Domingo.
