Students in Acre protest poor infrastructure and aid delays
Students at the Centro de Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (Cept) in Campos Pereira, Acre, have denounced severe structural and administrative issues at their institution. In a video released on Thursday, students reported a collapsing ceiling, damaged flooring, non-functional air conditioning, and frequent water shortages.
Beyond infrastructure, students raised concerns regarding food quality, alleging that insects have been found in meals. They also reported significant delays in student aid, specifically noting that transportation benefits, which should be paid monthly, have not been received for over a year.
The State Institute of Professional and Technological Education (Ieptec) issued a statement addressing some of the complaints. Regarding climate control, the institute noted that the issues are concentrated in three computer laboratories and stated that higher-capacity air conditioning units have been requested and should be installed in the coming days.
