Students in China personalize low-cost rental rooms

Young students in China are finding ways to personalize low-cost rental accommodations to create comfortable living environments.

Mochi, a student living in Nanning, Guangxi, rents a 15m² room for 300 NDT (approximately 1.1 million VND) per month. Despite the lack of air conditioning, hot water, or extensive furniture, she prioritized the room's natural light and ventilation over modern amenities. With a monthly income of roughly 3,500 NDT, she finds the rent manageable and plans to improve the space incrementally.

In Guangzhou, Wang Jingjing, a student earning approximately 20 million VND per month, rents a seventh-floor room for 500 NDT (approximately 1.9 million VND). Although the space initially featured peeling walls and old fixtures, she has used her resources to renovate the room with pastel fabrics, curtains, and organized shelving to create a personalized and cozy atmosphere.
