Students in Peru participate in regional debate tournaments
Students from various regions in Peru are engaging in competitive debate tournaments focused on social and economic issues. In the Ica region, students from the Alexander Von Humboldt educational institution in Pisco, including Camila Conislla Suárez, Laura Tornero Flores, and Jenifer Córdova Dueñas, are set to represent their province in the XII School Debate Contest organized by Shougang Hierro Perú. Their debate topic, “Mining and Local Development,” aims to explore how youth perspectives can contribute to national progress.
Separately, the fourth edition of the Andino Karl Popper Debate Tournament 2026 recently concluded in Cusco. The competition brought together eight delegations from Cusco, Arequipa, Ica, and Tacna to discuss the relationship between current education and the challenges of the future labor market. The Colegio de Alto Rendimiento (COAR) Cusco team secured first place in the tournament, which was organized by the Andino Cusco International School.
