Students in Sprendlingen design futuristic city models
Students from the Weibelfeldschule and Ricarda-Huch-Schule in Sprendlingen have developed futuristic city models as part of a gifted student program. The projects focused on urban planning and heat resistance, with students utilizing plants and shade to mitigate temperature increases.
In designing their models, the students prioritized manual craftsmanship over 3D printing, opting for materials like cardboard and moss. The exercise involved analyzing urban challenges, such as overtourism in cities like Barcelona, and developing collaborative definitions of what constitutes a city.
