Students occupy Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba

Students at the Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba (ITO), part of the Tecnológico Nacional de México, have occupied the campus facilities to demand improvements in academic, administrative, and infrastructural conditions. The movement is described as peaceful and organized.

Key demands include the removal of certain authorities and staff as approved by the Student Assembly, alongside an independent public audit of maintenance and infrastructure funds. Students are also calling for a technical audit of the SIGI system due to recurring failures that have complicated enrollment and course registration processes, affecting over 1,800 students.

In terms of academic and campus life, the protesters are seeking sufficient faculty, course availability, and manageable schedules. They are also demanding functional laboratories, classrooms, and basic services, including adequate sanitation, water supply, cleaning supplies, and reliable institutional internet.
