Students participate in political and historical forums in Germany

Students in Germany recently participated in educational programs focused on democracy and historical remembrance. In Baden-Württemberg, 40 students from the Georg-Goldstein-Schule visited the state parliament in Stuttgart to observe parliamentary processes and engage in a simulated election. During the visit, students discussed topics such as women's rights and political engagement with members of parliament Cindy Holmberg and Manuel Hailfinger. The group also attended a workshop at the Stauffenberg Memorial to study resistance against National Socialism.

In Thuringia, the 8th ACHAVA Student Forum was held at the state parliament in Erfurt. The event included speeches from Holocaust survivors and addressed the history of Jewish composers persecuted during the Nazi and Stalinist eras. One speaker, Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines, shared her experiences as one of the children rescued by Nicholas Winton. The ACHAVA festival aims to promote interreligious and intercultural understanding through such educational encounters.
