Students present science projects in Peru and Argentina

At the XXXVI Eureka 2026 National School Science and Technology Fair in Chiclayo, Peru, students were recognized for various technological and scientific innovations. In the technological solutions category, Ángel Fabricio Valdez Torres and Keisy Anais Villavicencio Portocarrero from Amazonas won first place for developing an autonomous robot designed to explore underground environments, identify obstacles, and alert users to combustible gases to prevent mining risks.

In the scientific inquiry category, Kiomi Anhaís Huertas Valdivia and Julio Israel Pérez Baylón from La Libertad secured first place for their research into biological alternatives to control Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae, aiming to combat dengue.

In Eduardo Castex, Argentina, students from Escuela 251 Maestro Horacio Coria presented an educational proposal at the third Environmental Fair. Their presentation focused on the environmental impacts of agrochemicals, specifically how these substances can affect non-target organisms like bees, contaminate water, soil, and air, and disrupt food chains and ecosystem balances.
