Students protest MPSC exam irregularities in Maharashtra

Students in Pune and across Maharashtra are conducting large-scale protests against the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The demonstrators are protesting against irregularities in exam patterns, seat reductions, and a perceived lack of transparency in the recruitment process.

Protesters have demanded the resignation of the MPSC Chairman and are calling for greater accountability in government recruitment examinations. The demonstrations, which included marches through the streets and gatherings outside district collector offices, saw significant participation from young candidates, including many women.

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi expressed support for the students on social media, stating that the protests reflect a “broken trust in the entire system.” He criticized the government regarding issues such as paper leaks, stalled recruitments, and the erosion of the credibility of constitutional institutions.
