Studio Ghibli film Nausicaä to air on Friday Road Show

Studio Ghibli film ‘Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind’ is scheduled to be broadcast on Nippon TV’s ‘Friday Road Show’ on August 14, 2026, starting at 21:00.

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Isao Takahata, the 1984 film is set 1,000 years after a great war known as the ‘Seven Days of Fire.’ The story follows Nausicaä, the princess of the Valley of the Wind, in a world where humanity lives in fear of the ‘Toxic Jungle’ and its giant insects. The plot is set in motion when a massive military ship from the Tolmekian Empire crashes near the valley, carrying a dangerous ancient weapon.
